Media Access

Are you a photographer or media outlet that wants to cover our events?

Please review the media policy and pre-register to cover an Evergreen Drift event.

NOTE: All media for the Formula Drift Seattle event is handled by Formula Drift. Evergreen Drift cannot grant media access for this event. Please submit a media request using FD’s Media request form.

As condition to be allowed access to cover an Evergreen Drift event media personnel must agree to follow these requirements:

Rules and Requirements:

  • All requests for on course Media access must be made to the Chief of Media and pre-register for each event. Please contact Earl Smith at (425) 239-2847, or runningprojects@yahoo.com, and provide a link to your online portfolio with a brief description of your qualifications.
  • All media personnel who attend Evergreen Drift events in person must agree to and sign the Evergreen Drift media policy for the season prior to attending their first event.
  • Only individuals who have been approved by the chief of media and received the perquisite media safety briefing will be allowed to photograph in any designated hot zone during the event.
  • Media must shoot only from reasonable and safe positions and you are encouraged to err on the side of caution. The instructions of the flaggers and officials must be followed at all times and failure to comply with a safety related request from an official will result in lost of media privileges.
  • Media must not delay event operations by attempting to move locations while the track is hot. Generally, the only time media is allowed to move positions is during run group changeovers. Media must coordinate with course workers and get approval from the chief steward prior to changing locations on a hot track.
  • Any camera equipment attached to a car (internal or external) must have a secondary retaining strap that will restrain the camera if the primary mount fails. “Bullet” style camera lenses with an integrated cable are excepted from the secondary strap rule.

Content Guidelines:

  • Evergreen Drift reserves the right to use publicly published content from our events for promotional usage on the Evergreen Drift website and in print media free of charge with proper source credit given.
  • Media may not charge for content obtained at an Evergreen Event without prior approval from the Director of Evergreen Drift.
  • Content from the event must be posted online in a timely manner after the event and tagged as an “Evergreen Drift” event provided it meets the content guidelines.
  • Evergreen Drift will not grant media pit pass comps to individuals who publish content of Evergreen Drift events that violates the acceptable content guidelines. Content that violates these guidelines will not be posted on EvergreenDrift.com and should not be tagged as an “Evergreen Drift” event. The acceptable content guidelines are:
    • Content may not contain profanity or family unfriendly subject matter.
    • Content may not contain participant actions prohibited by Evergreen Drift rules (example: hands out the window).
    • Content shall contain large amounts of awesome and fun.
  • When shooting at a competitive event media personnel must record the podium awards ceremony and include the results of the drivers featured on podium in their published content. It is the responsibility of the media agent to make arrangements with the Chief of Media if they are unable to attend the podium ceremony. If the media agent fails to include the podium results in the published content from the event and fails to get a waiver from the Chief of Media they will not be granted a pit pass comp to the next event on the calendar.

Failure to comply with media rules will result in loss of media privileges and/or media pit pass comps.

Evergreen Drift appreciates your effort and looks forward to the exciting content we’ve come to enjoy from our media partners.
