Evergreen Drift Rules and Requirements:

  • Speed limit is 10 mph in pits and off track
  • Burnouts/aggressive driving is prohibited off the track and in staging/grid areas. If you are not on the track taking your run drive like a grandma.
  • Drive 10mph or less on the gravel campground roads on the way to the registration shack to keep dust down and avoid complaints from the RV tenants.
  • No open toed shoes (sandals, flip-flops, etc.) are allowed in the pit area. All drivers, passengers, mechanics working on cars, and staff working on track, in tech, in grid, or staging must have full length pants.
  • No motorcycle, ATV’s, bicycles, skateboards, etc., are allowed in the pit area.
  • All drivers must attend the drivers meeting – no exceptions!
  • Know the course and drive it properly – failure to do so may result in collisions.
  • No glass, no alcohol, no drugs, no weapons.
  • While in staging promptly move your car up when the line moves!
  • Prepare in advance and be 100% ready to go when you are called to the line. This will maximize throughput and ensure the maximum number of runs for everyone.
  • If you have any questions ask an official.
  • If a car is found to be leaking fluids on the track the car is required to immediately proceed to the pits to fix the leak in a manner that will spill the least amount of fluids on the track surface. The leak must be repaired and a tech official must inspect the repair and verify the leak is fixed before the car can be let back on the track. Any runs missed due to a fluid leak cannot be re-run and the driver must return to the current rotation for their run group.
  • All repairs are to be made in the pit area. Do not hold up staging by working on your car in line.
  • Drive within your limits.
  • If you spin, regain traction and complete the course as quickly as possible.
  • Keep all body parts inside the vehicle while it is moving.(Including the passenger)
  • All driving is first come first served. Late arrivals cannot be guaranteed any special treatment or extra runs.
  • If you crash you must be cleared to drive by the EMT and your car pass Tech Inspection before resuming driving.
  • At the end of the night make sure all your trash is thrown away. Please help us keep the track clean!
  • Drive legally and considerately while in Monroe. The Sheriffs and public are watching. If you can’t control yourself on the streets and in the pits don’t come.
  • Evergreen Speedway reserves the right to remove anyone from the pit area without refund for individuals who continue to act in a manner that endangers the safety of others after receiving a warning.

Tech Inspection:

Tech inspection requirements are all based on keeping you safe out on the track. Please review these requirements and inspect your car prior to the event to ensure that it will past tech and that you don’t loose out on any track time.

You will be given the chance to correct any unsafe items and be re-inspected. If you are unable to correct the issue and cannot pass tech you will receive a refund of your driving fee.

Special Tech Inspection Note:
Cars without proper battery tie downs and positive terminal insulation will NOT be passed through tech. Everyone has been warned about this enough times. Duct tape does not count as proper battery terminal insulation. If you do not pass tech you must correct the issue and go to the back of the line to try again. It is not fair to everyone else who has a properly set up car to delay tech inspection. If you do not pass tech and miss your runs we cannot make any special accommodations. Come locked and loaded ready to rock.

Oil Leaks

Many cars have been leaking fluids at every event. This is not only unsafe, it causes extra work for the volunteers as we have to clean it up at the end of the day.

Check your engine, transmission, differential, power steering, and cooling system. If there is ANY oily dirt buildup you have a fluid leak. Also check all fluid levels and ensure they are not overfilled which will cause overflow out the breather. Fix any leaks before you attend another event. Simple!

It is strongly recommended that all drivers install catch cans on their transmissions and differentials to catch any overflowing fluid. Catch cans are available for a reasonable price and can be home made out of cheep thinks like empty metal cans.

If you car is found leaking fluids on the track you will not be allowed to run until it is fixed and you will not be given any re-runs.

Tech Inspection Requirements:

Engine

  • Metal Fuel Filter (no plastic or glass – fire hazard)
  • Batteries shall be securely fastened (no bungee cords) to the vehicle unibody/frame.
  • The positive battery terminal MUST BE securely covered and insulated. (If you don’t have anything covering your positive battery terminal go to your local parts store and pick one up. You don’t want your car to go up in a ball of fire do you?)
  • Any wet-cell battery moved from the manufacturer’s original location shall be in a non-conductive marine-type container or equivalent, and the hot terminal shall be insulated. All batteries (on-board power supplies) shall be attached securely to the frame or chassis structure independent of the marine type container. NOTE: This will allow the use of gel cell or dry cell (AGM) batteries without a nonconductive marine-type container where applicable.
  • Throttle return action shall be safe and positive.
  • A Radiator catch can in place to collect coolant overflow.
  • No fuel, oil, water or brake fluid leaks should be observed when the engine is running or at any time during the event. If you have any oil build up around drivetrain components clean and fix the source of the leak before the event.

Suspension

  • All wheel lugs present with nuts. Nuts must have at least 6 full turns of engagement (You may be required to remove wheel spacers).
  • Tire pressure within manufacturer’s recommended range.
  • Wheel bearings, shocks, steering, and suspension shall be in good operating condition with no play.
  • Tires must be in good condition, with no cords or belts showing and no cracks in the tread or sidewall.
  • No damaged wheels that pose a hazard of the tire suddenly losing pressure (major lip bends, cracks, etc).

Interior

  • Throttle, brake, and clutch petals checked for proper operation. Throttle pedal must return to ‘closed’ position properly and brakes must operate safely.
  • Seat solidly mounted at 4 points with adequate hardware and mounts.
  • Safe and properly (see GForce Harness installation guide if you have an aftermarket harness- It may just save your life!) mounted seat belts (lap and shoulder).
  • Floor mats removed from drivers side
  • All loose objects removed from vehicle. Any items such as cameras or other electronic devices must be securely attached.
  • Any camera mount affixed either internally or externally must have a secondary strap of suitable strength that will restrain the device in the event that the camera mount fails.

Helmet

  • All helmets for driver or passenger must be at a minimum DOT rated open or full face style in good condition.
  • Snell SA or M 95 or newer rated helmets are strongly recommended.
  • If you bring a helmet to tech inspection that does not meet the safety requirements the chief of tech may hold your helmet for the duration of the event to prevent it from being used.

Tandem

  • A minimum of a 4 point roll cage with door bars on both the driver and passenger side is required for all tandem runs. Evergreen Drift reserves the right to not approve a roll cage based on safety concerns.

We cannot make special accommodations and provide extra runs if you miss out on track time due to a mechanical failure. It is extremely important to have your car maintained and your setup dialed prior to the event to ensure a mechanical issue does not cause you to lose out on track time.

Additional Tips and Suggestions

  • Inspect and load your car your car early and get plenty of rest the night before.
  • Check your tire pressure and make sure they are aired up to the proper pressure. If you don’t know the best tire pressure for your car set it at the highest manufactures recommended rating printed on the sidewall of the tire. Low tire pressure could cause you to lose control of your car and potentially roll over!
  • Get to the venue early to be ready for tech. If you are late for tech you will have to wait until the tech inspector has time to check your car.
  • Bring sunscreen and plenty of WATER, even when it is not hot
  • Bring a good dial-type tire pressure gauge. A portable air compressor or air tank is recommend.
  • Bring a good jack, don’t rely on the factory scissor-jack
  • Bring at least two jack stands and USE IT if you are under the car
  • Bring basic hand tools and sockets. A decent hammer is good too.
  • Bring extra brake, differential, engine and transmission fluid.
  • Bring extra lug nuts and wheel studs.
  • Bring a pair of gloves for handling wheels, tires, and other dirty things.
  • Make sure you have tires that will get you home safely!
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help; we are all one community
  • Follow the rules and be courteous and safe; you’ll make a lot of friends!
  • Don’t forget you can have fun AND respect others.
