Are you all jacked up on a drifting high from this weekend’s crazy Formula Drift action?

Are you ready for the May Open Drift event?
We’ll have the 3/8ths open with the both the Competition Course and Hot Lap course on tap for the day.
The 5/8ths will be open for All ProAm drivers. ProAm drivers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this event to get tech inspected for ProAm and get some seat time on the 5/8ths. Use this opportunity to make sure your car is on the lock down and you are ready to rip for ProAm Round 2 in just a few short weeks.
If you haven’t yet seen the guys Hot Lap the 3/8ths come by and check it out. There is always something crazy happening on track with this course setup.

Season Kickoff Open Drift Recap

The Evergreen Drift season has officially begun with our first Open Drift event in the bag.
The event used 3 different tracks for non stop drifting insanity all day long.
The old school 3/8ths course is now officially dubbed the ‘Competition Course’. Drivers who are not comfortable with drifting the whole bank get assigned to this course to level up their skills.
The experienced drivers that can clear the whole bank were let loose on the Hot Lap course that was successfully debuted during the Invitational event. The genius of the Hot Lapping format is that two groups of drivers can be on course at the same time doubling the number of runs we can do in a day. Whats not to like about more runs?
It also steps up the challenge with much faster speeds on the bank. A couple of drivers got caught out by these increased speeds with Primo kissing a tire slightly denting his Type X bumper and headlight and Russell’s spectacular shunt after misjudging his entry speed.
The only issue is the extra stress of 3 consecutive Hot Lap runs kills your tires faster and your car has to be solid. With all the extra runs we’re throwing at you make sure your car is dialed so you don’t miss out on any of your run groups due to car breakage. Time to step it up!
Both Andrew Coomes and Mike Phillips took runs on the ProAm 5/8ths course getting ready for the first ProAm round on 5/7. Note to all ProAm drivers: The 5/8ths will be open every Open Drift event for you to test and practice! Take advantage of it.
Thanks to all the volunteers, drivers, and the fans who showed up for a great day of drifting.

Invitational Story told through Video

It’s no secret that the NW has videographers that are just as talented as our drifters.
As the drivers skills improve through practice so do the video guys.
Justin Shreeve managed to capture not only the on track action but the entire ethos of the event and community that makes them so great. With a well picked soundtrack and some narrative editing the day’s story is retold for all to enjoy. This is the most popular video of the event with over 8,000 views to date and counting!

Evergreen Drift 2010 Schedule

The 2010 Evergreen Drift schedule is HERE!
The cliff’s notes for the season include:
- Evergreen Drift Northwest ProAm Championship - Watch the Northwest’s top drifters battle it out on the full 5/8ths Formula Drift spec course in a five round series under the Friday night lights. Both licensed professional drifters and amateur drivers will vie for the the title of Evergreen Drift Northwest ProAm Champion. With a round held in conjunction with the Formula Drift Pro Championship event in July and the finale at the Evergreen State Fair this will be the hottest series in the Northwest. This is a Formula Drift ProAm sanctioned series and the season’s top finishing amateur driver will receive a Formula Drift Professional license! Additionally, the amateur drivers that finish the season ranked second through fifth will receive invites to the Formula Drift ProAm nationals for a chance to earn their FD Pro license. There is one more wildcard ProAm Nationals invitation that will be given out at the discretion of Evergreen Drift officials for a total of 5 invites for the season. We’re adding a car show hosted by Northwest Nissans and have other plans in the works to make this the place to be on a Friday night.
- 3/8ths Grassroots Championship - Are you new to drift competitions? Maybe you don’t have the budget to build a 400hp ProAm monster car for the 5/8ths. The 3/8ths Grassroots Championship was designed for you. This is a unique three round series allows drivers of all skill levels and car preparation levels to compete inexpensively with an equal shot at the podium. The proven competition rules allow for caged and non caged cars to safely compete head to head by using “Pseudo Tandem” bracket eliminations. Judging is based on how well the driver pushes his car to the limits allowing a beginner in a mildly modified car an equal playing filed against a competitor with a highly modified car. This is a true grassroots series allowing drivers of all experience and modification levels to ‘run what you brung’ and compete without breaking the bank.
- Drift School presented by KP Race Engineering - It’s been a long time since we’ve had a drift school but this year we have one on the schedule thanks to support from the guys at KP Race. Stay tuned for more details.
- Open Drift - Of course we have plenty of Open Drift dates where you can come out enjoy a full day of drifting just for the fun of it or even use it as a test and tune practice session for the comps. Don’t miss the crazy multi car tandem mayhem and the 5/8ths bank action.

Free Grandstands Admission this Friday the 21st!

We just got word that grandstands admissions will be free for everyone at this Fridays open drift!!!!
If you haven’t made it out to an event this year this is the perfect way to spend a Friday night. Forget spending $50 on a movie an popcorn and watch some hard driving action.
Driving starts at 6pm and goes till 10. Just show up at the Evergreen Stage fairgrounds in Monroe and follow the tire smoke to the big grandstands.

Coming straight off of Round 3 get ready for open drift this Friday 8/21.
Drivers // Beg or borrow some tires and come out for some Friday night action. Open drift events have been crazy with tons of run time (20+ runs at the last event). Open drift events all about fun with 6 car tandems and 5/8ths action! Kick off work early and start the weekend right!
Fans // Spend Friday night with us and watch the Northwest’s finest drifters put on the best showcase of local talent in the Northwest. UPDATE! The owner went crazy and there is free grandstands admission this Friday. If you haven’t been out yet check us out!
